No funds misused? You believe that?
It is deeply sad to learn that monies collected from world humanitarian bodies and from the public which were allocated for the poor had been misused by the Barisan Nasional government. Several states have channeled these fund to refurbish the menteri besar's residence with new furniture and carpets and many other unrelated matters instead of giving it to the poor for whom these funds were allotted or received for.
These circumstances only came to light due to the Auditor-General's Report 2005 and since the report, the BN leadership have yet to take any action of sacking the menteri besars involved when these menteri besars should be arrested and charged for criminal breach of trust.
What puzzles most Malaysians is that just recently, Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak reported that there was no such incident where designated funds were misused by the government and he further commented that the government has sufficient funds to pay all its dues and need not rely on any designated funds to be utilised to pay for any government expenditure.
Now we realise that the BN government had been misusing the monies meant for the poor for their own whims and fancy as the leadership had totally ignored their accountability on the distribution of these funds.
Indeed, the BN government under the leadership of PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and DPM Najib Tun Razak have failed the trust entrusted by the rakyat to administer the country in good faith.
I am sure there is many more similar situations of mismanagement yet to be made known.
