I would be charitable enough to accept E Sivabalan's explanation that he 'inadvertently omitted to mention the authorship of the poems.

However, I would like to inform Sivabalan that some things are just not done. He not only 'cut and pasted' parts of two poems, he also did some minor editing to the pronouns of the second poem.

Dear Sivabalan, if you need to do the same thing again, please do not exercise your own poetic creativity and butcher two poems to create a kind of hybrid. And yes, this time, please don't forget to acknowledge the source. That would be known as plagiarism.

And please don't worry about S Samy Vellu's reputation; Malaysians would never believe that he can actually write poetry.
