I refer to the malaysiakini report Bus crash kills 20, two in critical condition . I feel it's my duty to highlight an important aspect of road transport accidents.

Coming across many patients in my daily clinical life, I have observed that most lorry and bus drivers, contractors and security guards are drug addicts - either active or passive.

Sometimes I wonder how come is it these people have been given the responsibility to guard banks and properties even high-security places such as Putrajaya.

It's even worse when they are given a licence to drive and are responsible for the lives of their innocent passengers.

I urge the government to bar active drug addicts and those under rehabilitation from driving either public or private vehicles and from guarding banks and properties.
