Tamil is a classical language. It has probably the richest literary tradition for any living language. It is the language of orators and oratory. It is structured in mathematical form so that knowledge of the language gives you an instinctive knowledge of mathematics. Mathematicians and computer programmers abound in areas of India where the Tamil language or derivations of it are used. Telegu and Malayalam had Tamil as their root languages although now both have been influenced by Sanskrit.

Anonymous, who wrote [#1] Indians must make radical changes [/#] (March 29), has a real complex about himself. He has a poor self-image and associates the Tamil language with negative images. He probably does not speak the language with any real degree of fluency.

Tamil is a beautiful language. It is a beautiful-sounding language. It is the mother tongue of more than 70 million people worldwide.

Anonymous confuses the poorly resourced Tamil schools of Malaysia and the socio-economic status of the Tamils here with the quality and status of the Tamil language.
