I refer to the letter [#1] Licence to abuse[/#] (April 14) from Irene Xavier. She has made very serious allegations against the police. In summary, she is saying that she was tortured while being detained under the ISA.

Has she:

1) Made a police report about this?

2) Complained formally to Suhakam?

3) Filed a suit against the police?

4) Complained to the UN Commissioner for Human Rights?

5) Held a press conference to publicise her allegations?

The writer has impressed me as a gutsy woman who would not back down in the face of intimidation. Has she been 'silenced'?

We deserve some answers.
