I'm sorry but I don't get Mr Avtaran's point ('Do you want to live in chaos?' May 16). In my humble opinion we are already living in an extremely chaotic country.

Some points of contention:

- Our higher education system is in a chaotic condition where many of the deserving students are being left out to make way for the less deserving students;

- Our priorities are all in a chaos where we build the tallest and biggest structures in the world and then leave them largely unoccupied while the majority in Malaysia have hardly decent homes;

- Our racial relations are in a chaos when three inherently friendly and loving race groups cannot get along with each other after 43 years of independence; and

- Our economic conditions are worsening when in our chaos we put medical doctors in charge of finding economic cures to our woes.

I can go on and on but I think my point is made. Sometimes we get so comfortable with living in a chaotic condition that we begin to believe that everything is normal.

I'm sorry, Mr Avtaran, but I refuse to accept that this is the best that Malaysia can do.
