I refer to the Malaysiakini report Saiful: Sodomy wasn't consensual.

I refer to the recent act of Mohd. Saiful to swear in the name of God that Anwar Ibrahim sodomised him. I do not know what the motive of his act is but I do feel that it was done with a sinister intention.

Why does he want to swear when the police have already charged Anwar Ibrahim in the courts? Has he have no faith in our judiciary system? (well who does?)

To recall, he only said that in the name of God that Anwar sodomised him. He never mentioned anything else. Let us recap a little bit. Anwar is charged with the consensual act of sodomising Saiful. It means that Saiful, too, was a willing partner involved in the act. Even the home minister admitted this and said that Saiful is the complainant and the main witness thus he was not charged.

This is clearly a homosexual act (can anyone help me to better describe this act?) which is condemned by religions and unacceptable to the Malaysian public. If Saiful is sincere, then he would have repented and sought for forgiveness in the house of God for this heinous act.

Nothing else is more important than to seek forgiveness for his act as his crime is condemned by his religion. Instead, he did not but used the house of God to accuse Anwar. Why not he seek forgiveness first? Unless there is nothing to seek forgiveness for.

What surprises me are the acts of our prime minister and deputy prime minister which are an indirect way of supporting Saiful’s act of swearing. Even the ex-prime minister jumped onto the bandwagon. Do they condone homosexuality?

Should Malaysia, a respected Islamic country, be seen as a country where the leaders sympathise with a homosexual though in Islam homosexual is punishable?

Another question that hangs in my mind is why did the ulama (religious authorities) in the mosque not reprimand Saiful for his homosexual act? Do the ulama too condone homosexuality?

I am sorry that I have raised these kinds of sensitive questions but please analyse the whole scenario. Here is a young man who swore that Anwar sodomised him and the police - after their investigations - have charged Anwar with the consensual act of sodomising Saiful and the home minister confirmed that Saiful is not to be charged though he, too, is a guilty party.

If all this are true then Saiful and Anwar were involved in a homosexual relationship. Why didn’t the religious authorities in the mosque where the swearing was made and the leaders of this country condemn this young man for being involved in this forbidden act?

Instead the leaders have opted to praise him. Well, at least look on the positive side as our leaders do not ‘hate’ homosexuals but have a lot of praise for them. Bravo!
