Nizar furious with 'slanderous' report

Sinar Harian
has been slapped with a 48 hours ultimatum to retract the statement and apologise, failing in which a police report will be lodged and legal proceedings will be taken.
Former executive Pakatan member cum lawyer A Sivanesan told Malaysiakini that he is acting for Nizar and he has issued a legal notice to Sinar Harian today alleging that it has maliciously slandered their client.
In an SMS message sent to Sivanesan which was also made available to Malaysiakini , Nizar denied uttering such words.
" Sinar Harian has made a very slanderous front page report with bad intentions in their headline today. They are headlining as though I had uttered this phrase ` Kristian Tolak PAS '. I have demanded an open apology from the daily in (their) tomorrow's paper."
The contents of the legal notice:
"Our client is the Bukit Gantang MP, Pasir Panjang assemblyperson and former Perak Menteri Besar who has the support of all the races and religions in the state and never at any time has stated and uttered such words.
Sinar Harian has 48 hours to retract the statement and stop further publishing such articles and apologise within the given time.
Failure to do so, we have received strict instructions to institute legal proceedings against the reporter who carried the news and the publisher who published the news and face legal action.
