The tender results for car licence plates bearing registration numbers from MCA 1 to MCA 9999 will be put up for public viewing at the Malacca Road Transport Department (RTD) starting tomorrow.

Transport Ministry, in a statement today, said the results would also be made available at the department's website at www.jpj.gov.my.

A total of 965 tender applications for the MCA car licence plates were received between Nov 24 and Dec 15.

"MCA 1 received the highest bid price of RM300,100, followed by MCA 2 at RM101,000 and MCA 8 at RM88,168," the statement said.

The registration numbers for MCA 888 received the highest number of bids as 15 tender applications were received at RM15,400 each.

The price tendered for MCA 1 was also the highest so far, surpassing the previous high of RM242,000 tendered for TAY 1 and RM200,900 for TAN 1.

Through the tender bidding process and booking for the MCA number plates, RTD is expected to collect RM1.5 million in revenue, the statement said.
