KeADILan deputy president Dr Chandra Muzaffar will make an announcement to clarify rumours of his resignation from the party within the next day or two.

In a statement to malaysiakini , he denied handing in an official letter of resignation and said that news of his plans to quit the party was mere "speculation". However, Chandra refused to comment when he was asked whether he did actually intend to resign.

"News of my resignation letter is not true. However, I will clarify my future plans after meeting with friends in the party,"said Chandra.

last week and it was followed by other major daily newspapers two days later. According to sources close to the party, Chandra had express his intention to tender his resignation at a meeting with the party leadership after the recent polls.

Chandra who had just returned from South Africa after a seven-day "Parliament of the World Religions" conference, explained that he was still working for the party. He had recently issued a statement criticising Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on the formation of the new Cabinet, citing it as "disrespectful of the voters' sentiment".
