The Universiti Malaya medical faculty has sent a written explanation to Education Minister Musa Mohamad about its involvement in a twinning programme with a Perak-based private medical college.

When contacted, an officer with the vice-chancellor's office said medical faculty dean Prof Dr Mohd Amin Jalaludin had already responded to the minister.

However, the officer added that the communication would not be made available to the press.
