Umno Youth today urged the government to persuade ExxonMobil International Holdings to reconsider an offer by the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) to acquire a stake in Esso Malaysia Bhd.   

khairy jamaluddin kj interview 190310 Its chief, Khairy Jamaluddin, said such reconsideration was necessary as the assets of Esso Malaysia Bhd were strategic and there was a good offer from LTAT.

ExxonMobil International Holdings has reportedly sold 65 percent of its interests in Esso Malaysia Bhd (EMB) to San Miguel Corp of the Philippines, in which the eldest son of former PM Mahathir Mohamad, Mirzan, has a stake.  

Khairy spoke to reporters after distributing "buka puasa" (breaking-of-fast) food packets at the Kuala Lumpur Sentral Station to people returning to their respective towns and villages in conjunction with the Aidilfitri holidays.
