PAS: MyKad scam happens on 'near daily basis'

Selangor PAS claimed today it has evidence that there are buses ferrying foreigners into the state to be given citizenship on an “almost daily basis”.
Selangor PAS secretary Khairuddin Othman said the information was obtained based on intelligence work from its machinery which included tailing the buses and taking photographs as evidence.
“We have concrete evidence, our internal sources confirm that it normally involves 10 to 15 buses.
“This (modus operandi) of ferrying (foreigners to be given citizenship) in buses is done in broad daylight,” he said, adding that the foreigners were normally gathered at a few locations including Paya Jaras, Hentian Sungai Buloh and Hentian Serdang.
However, Khairuddin lamented that his party lacked resources to stop the operation and can only observe the movement of the buses, the destinations for which included areas from Paya Jaras to Janda Baik and Putrajaya.
He claimed that the operation intensified two to three weeks ago.
Khairuddin was responding to the party’s recent ambush of a resort in Bangi yesterday which PAS supporters suspects is host to some 240 foreigners who were about to be granted citizenship.
Before this, PAS had claimed that it ambushed two houses in Paya Jaras and had caught the owner of the house distributing identity cards to a group believed to be Indonesians and Cambodian nationals.
The intensity of such operations had increased since the end of September and is expected to continue until December this year, assuming that the general election will be called in February or March next year, he claims.
He added that there were “hidden hands” that were protecting those responsible transporting the foreigners to be granted citizenship, but declined to finger anyone.
Thus far, Khairuddin says, his party had succesfully tracked the operation at three locations since early this year, namely at Salak Tinggi (Sepang), Paya Jaras (Subang) and the most recent being Kampung Bukit Dugang which sits in between Dengkil and Bangi.
PAS has made police reports over the alleged citizenship-for-votes operation but to no avail, he added.
