Former Selangor exco member and former state PAS commissioner Hasan Ali was a changed man after Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad did not give his support for him (Hasan) to become the menteri besar.

NONE Khalid, in revealing this on his blog, described Hasan ( right ) as going bonkers following his crusade in spewing venom against the party leaders, Pakatan Rakyat and on him, by attacking PAS and alleging the party had strayed from its original path following his expulsion.

The Shah Alam MP, in his long piece on the blog, said Hasan had now become ' gila talak ' (gone crazy in divorce) in his continuous attack on him, PAS and Pakatan Rakyat.

Khalid said when Hasan joined PAS in 1998, he had supported him until he became the Selangor PAS commissioner and he (Khalid) was one of the deputies.

“However, all that changed in 2008 when I rejected the cooperation with Umno which would see Hasan being appointed as the menteri besar. Hasan had asked me once who should be the new Selangor MB and I replied, ‘Tan Sri Abdul Khalid (Ibrahim)’.

“He was stunned, and frustration could be seen from his face.”

From that instant, the Shah Alam MP said, he felt his ties with Hasan had changed as the former Selangor exco member was bringing his own agenda in attacking DAP and PKR. Khalid said following his on-going spat with Hasan, he was sacked as Selangor PAS deputy commissioner II in 2008.

“At one point of time, Hasan and I were brought before the PAS central committee meeting in 2009 following the spat. I was suspended from all party posts for six months, while Hasan was only issued a stern warning and was told to refrain from attacking Pakatan Rakyat in the media,” he said.

‘Hasan does not have a future’

Despite his severe punishment, Khalid said he won a seat on the PAS central committee position in 2011 by placing eighth highest, while Hasan declined to being placed 16th.

“My reading of his expulsion from PAS is that he had chosen the path as he saw his future in the party remained uncertain in his wish to be the MB. He continues to attack Pakatan Rakyat and PAS, despite the decision by the muktamar that PAS should work towards strengthening the opposition coalition.

“However, his expulsion has not stopped his continuous and scurrilous attacks on me and Pakatan,” said Khalid, even to the point of accusing him of destroying the faith of Muslims by preventing the banning of the sale of liquor and vice parlours in Shah Alam.

Khalid asked how could he do so as he was not a Selangor exco member and neither was he the PAS commissioner, and was powerless to take such actions.

“With regard to the sale of liquor in Shah Alam it had already been implemented without much furore by the Shah Alam City council, as previously the seizure was made by the local council and not the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department.

“Even DAP approves the banning of liquor in Shah Alam and was waiting to enforce it by stating it clearly in the licence when the dealers come to renew,” he said.

Clearly, Khalid said his approach and that of Hasan are different in that Hasan may like to use his power but he prefers to dakwah (propagate) and to educate the people.

“It is clear to me that Hasan is ‘ gila talak ’. Hence, one should not believe what he says. He is prepared to lie and twist over a matter. As long as he speaks, we can see how crazy it is,” he said.
