The plaintiff in the case of a datuk charged with cheating a taxi driver of RM90,000, wanted to withdraw the charge against him, the magistrate’s court in Klang was told today.

NONE Counsel J Rao told magistrate Ho Kwong Chin that there was a new development in the case where the plaintiff, Limat Jonit, wanted to withdraw the charge against businessman Shamsubahrin Ismail ( left in photo ).

As such, he requested the court to set a new mention date soon.

As the matter was confirmed by deputy public prosecutor Elya Ezrin Mohd Roslan, Ho allowed the defendant’s application and fixed April 12 for re-mention of the case.

On Jan 27, Shamsubahrin, 46, pleaded not guilty to cheating Limat, 57, at Port Klang Maybank on March 24, 2010.

Meanwhile, Shamsubahrin is also facing two more charges at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court of cheating National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) director Dr Mohamad Salleh Ismail, involving RM1.755 million.
