Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak faces a possible lawsuit over his remark calling detractors of Felda Global Ventures’ (FGV) listing as “anak jadah” (illegitimate children) if he does not apologise, said NGO Anak.

NONE Anak chief Mazlan Aliman ( right ) said some 30 Felda settlers and PAS members will converge outside the PM’s residence in Sri Perdana at 3pm tomorrow to demand the premier to apologise and withdraw his May 8 statement.

“We hope that the PM will have the courage to come out and receive our legal notice. We want him to apologise for the remark,” he said.

The PAS-linked group comprising the children of Felda settlers also said they will unveil details of an upcoming rally against FGV’s listing during tomorrow’s gathering.

NONE Mazlan added that details have been finalised for what might be the last ditch effort to save Felda from the Bursa listing that is allegedly detrimental to the settlers.

Najib ( left ) had made the insulting remark while at Felda Jengka 8, Pahang when he announced a RM15,000 “windfall” for every Felda household as an incentive to support the listing.

PAS had taken offence against the remark, saying the vulgar insult is not something that a prime minister should utter against his own people.

"Settlers opposing the listing is a question of exercising their right to protect their interests, and the prime minister should not have labelled them 'haram jadah',” PAS information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man had said at the time.
