"The instrument of appointment is to officially inform that I have been appointed as the Kedah Menteri Besar and the new BN government in the state will honour all the promises made in the BN's election manifesto.

"I think the promises made will take up our time in the next five years as we have listed so many activities and programmes for the people.

"The objective is to increase revenue for the state and to provide a better life for the people," he told a media confernce in Alor Setar.

BN will form the state government after winning a 21-seat simple majority of the 36 seats in the state assembly.

Mukhriz said BN accepted the people's decision, giving sufficient seats to form the state government.

"While we are satisfied with the people's verdict, we have a heavy responsibility to fulfil the people's wants.

"This is a responsibility we are prepared to shoulder and deliver," added the former Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry.
