Some 1,911 people have been arrested by Narcotics CID of Bukit Aman in an Ops Cantas Narcotik nationwide over three days from last Friday.

Narcotics CID director Noor Rashid Ibrahim said 1,772 cases were opened, including 26 cases under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Police seized heroin (10,410.41gm) syabu 6,793.35gm), ganja (778.91gm) and Erimin 5 (1,097 tablets).

NONE They arrested 30 triad members from Geng 04, Geng 08, Geng 555, Geng Raj and Geng 18 believed to be involved in drug trafficking.

"We do not rule out the possibility they were involved in the supply of firearms in Perak, Penang and Kedah," Noor Rashid e told a press conference at Bukit Aman police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.

Police seized a hand grenade and 20 rounds of ammunition in Penang while in Perak, they seized 24 .38 SPL bullets.

Noor Rashid said from January to July, police seized drugs worth RM185.71 million (5.35 tonnes) following 100,649 arrests nationwide.

The drugs include ketum leaves (2405kg), Ecstacy (576kg), heroin (524kg), ganja (475kg), syabu (398kg) and ketamine (88kg).

Three of 63 arrested in Penang ex-EO detainees

In Penang, 63 people were arrested for alleged involvement in various criminal activities.

Penang CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah said of the total, three aged 22 to 33 years were ex-convicts under the Emergency Ordinance (EO).

Following the arrest, police also seized three pistols, six parangs, five samurai swords, 20 rounds ammunition, bomb, rotan and iron rod, he said in a

statement.

In Sabah, police arrested 73 people for various offenses in 251 raids carried out in the state.

Sabah Police Commissioner Hamza Taib said 829 people were screened and police seized eight sharp weapons.

In Pahang, five people were arrested, including two members of Geng 08 and a couple who were involved in drug trafficking.

Pahang police chief Sharifuddin Abdul Ghani said police seized 9,261.6gm heroin worth RM268,586 from two cars.

In Selangor, police arrested three siblings and their uncle in Sekinchan early yesterday.

Sabak Bernam police chief Supt Noor Mushar Mohamad said the suspects were arrested while packaging drugs in a house.

On inspection of the house, the police found 38.2gm heroin hidden in a trash can in the kitchen.
