2014 set to be the year of demonstrations

Smaller rallies would be held before this, to build momentum to the major rally on May 1, for which the venue will be finalised later, added Mohamad, who is widely known as Mat Sabu.
"I will travel all over the country with NGOs to invite the people to take part in the event that will climax on Labour Day.
"The ones that are suffering now are the civil servants as well. Hence, it will be good if all our people participate, because our country is poor not because of the lack of resources, but because of corruption."
The gravity of this situation, Mat Sabu said in an online interview with a few media groups, including Malaysiakini, has to be stressed to the people.
Bersih 4.0 next year?
According to him, a small rally that could involve as many as 20,000 participants, would be held at the Dewan Kelab Sultan Sulaiman in Kampung Baru, Kuala Lumpur, tomorrow.
The rally is a part of the "Faham GST, Tolak GST" (Understand GST, reject GST) campaign that was announced by Pakatan Rakyat not too long again to protest against the implementation of the goods and services tax from April 1, 2015.
Mat Sabu also announced the possibility of the fourth edition the Bersih rally, organised by the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih) of being held next year, or even in 2015.
"The date for the next Bersih rally is yet to be finalised as the newly-appointed head, Maria Chin Abdullah, is still under the process of lining up her new team," he said.
The last such rally, Bersih 3.0, was held in Kuala Lumpur on April 28, 2012.
