Police have permitted the families of two Internal Security Act (ISA) detainees, Saari Sungib and Lokman Noor Adam, to see them next week.

Their wives told malaysiakini today that the visits will take place at the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters on May 7 and 8.

Yesterday, the family of Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin, the Free Anwar Campaign (Freeanwar.com) webmaster, was allowed to meet him at the same venue for about two hours.

Raja Petra was the first detainee to be given access to family visits since the police arrested 10 people in an ISA crackdown which began on April 10.

Today, the family of Keadilan leader Dr Badrul Amin Baharom is scheduled to meet him.

Aliza Jaffar, whose husband Saari was among the first to be detained, said she was informed by the police this morning of the visit.

"My children and I will visit him at the police headquarters on May 7 at 3.30pm," she said, adding that the police did not state any conditions.

Meanwhile, Lokman's wife, Noor Farahin Ahmad, also confirmed that she will be allowed to meet her husband at the same venue on May 8 at 9.30am.

"They did not tell us anything besides not to bring any food for him," said Noor Farahin.

When contacted later, the families of detained Keadilan Youth leader Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor and social activist-cum- malaysiakini columnist Hishamuddin Rais, said they have not heard anything from the police about being allowed to meet them as yet.

On April 10 and 11, police detained seven people, including Mohamad Ezam, Raja Petra, Saari and Hishamuddin for allegedly planning to topple the government through militant means.

The others are Keadilan leader Tian Chua and party Youth leaders N Gobalakrishnan and Abdul Ghani Haroon,

Subsequently, three more, including Badrul and Lokman were arrested but police did not disclose whether they were related to the earlier charge.

Human rights activist Badaruddin Ismail was the last to be picked up on April 26 and police have not ruled out the possibility of more arrests.
