DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang (left) also asked if his vow that police will commence probes "within 24 hours" of a complaint, will also apply if a report is lodged against Zahid.
In a statement, Lim said that this is as Zahid himself had made remarks which impinge on sensitivities in a speech yesterday.
He reportedly called on Malays to defend their rights "over (their) their dead bodies".
Zahid was reported by the Malay Mail Online as saying that during the Perak constitutional crisis, the Malays were lying on the roads while DAP members were pelting stones at the Perak regent.
This, Lim said, is "clearly seditious in trying to incite inter-racial hatred apart from being a tissue of lies and falsehoods".
Threatening an uprising
Similarly, the DAP Gelang Patah MP added that former Umno minister Noh Omar (below) , too, should face an investigation for threatening an "uprising".
He allegedly said this at a gathering of some 500 people organised by a coalition of NGOs called Gerak Daulat in Shah Alam on Sept 21.
"Will Zahid ensure that police will initiate investigations "within 24 hours" if a police report on sedition is lodged against Noh Omar?" Lim asked.
Malaysiakini yesterday reported that Zahid swore to God that police will probe all those who impinge on sensitivities, "if possible within 24 hours" of a complaint.
"As the minister responsible for the Royal Malaysian Police, wallahi billahi tallahi (I swear to Allah) that if police reports are lodged against any individual who impinged on a sensitive issue, the police will start investigations immediately, if possible within 24 hours," he said at a Lumut Umno event on Sept 20.
