Umno rep: Kajang is flooding, Azizah missing
Selangor opposition leader Shamsudin Lias has criticised Kajang assemblyperson Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for failing to turn up at the state assembly for two days.
Selangor opposition leader Shamsudin Lias has criticised Kajang assemblyperson Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for failing to turn up at the state assembly for two days.
The Sungai Burong Umno rep termed this as irresponsible behaviour.
"I was made to understand that the assemblyperson (Wan Azizah) is abroad.
"In my view, this assemblyperson is irresponsible. The sitting has just started and she should have given this priority.
"She should be at the assembly now because her constituency is being hit by flash floods," he told the House.
Prior to this, Shamsudin ( left ) took a swipe at Wan Azizah's husband, Anwar Ibrahim, saying the latter should not be retained as state economic adviser.
He had blamed Anwar for the numerous imbroglios in the state such as the 'Kajang Move' and the menteri besar crisis.
However, Wan Azizah turned up for the evening session and explained that she had informed the state assembly about her absence.
"I gave notice of my absence. It is not like I skipped (deliberately)," she said.
The PKR president also took a swipe at Shamsudin, whom she claimed was frequently absent during the state Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meetings.
Meanwhile, when debating the state's Budget 2015, the PKR president suggested that a committee be formed to tackle the flood problems in Selangor.
She said the committee should be chaired by Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali.
"This is not polemics. Who becomes the menteri besar is responsible.
"With an open heart, I wish to state that it is an important post, full of trust and responsibilities," she added.
