MCA, Gerakan gasp for air as Umno lurches right
YOURSAY ‘They prefer to live without honour, with their bellies full of tainted rice.’
Guan Eng: Why stay with Umno who insults openly?
Ace: If Party A perpetually does nothing to its members who taunt and insult others and condones threats, why do other component parties cling on and support such a party?
If all important decisions are made unilaterally by one or a few persons in Party A and there is absolutely no discussion and worse still, all the other parties were not even notified, what's the point of staying on?
As window dressing? Strange, isn't it?
Dont Just Talk: After making baseless accusation that the Penang Chinese wealth are made from illegal activities and now feeling the heat, the Permatang Pauh Umno chief Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said made a U-turn and blamed in on lack of enforcement by the PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police).
Penang CPO Abdul Rahim Hanafi has denied that there were such illegal activities in Penang. Mohd Zaidi should apologised unreservedly to the Penang Chinese and PDRM for making such irresponsible statements at the Umno AGM (annual general meeting) which reflects very badly on his party.
Also Baling Wanita Umno chief Mashitah Ibrahim from Kedah should also apologise for her uncalled for Chinese bashing .
SayaM1: Go to these illegal establishments and you see these being run by Chinese syndicates. The police should have their ears on the ground and wipe out the menace.
Once in Kuantan, a ground floor in a building was let out for a cybercafe business, but when the owner checked the premises months after renting it out, he found it operating real-time online roulette and blackjack games with the patrons having to place a deposit first before playing.
The authorities knew of it but it seems they were "kow timmed" by these syndicates. I am sorry for the hard-working Chinese who get painted with the same brush because of some of their clansmen.
Not Convinced: The SayaM1 comment is a case of tarring all Chinese for the misdemeanor committed by some of them. In other countries, they call this racism.
Ben Hor: MCA, stay with BN, you are always guaranteed some scraps that are left over after the Umno warlords have feasted.
In return, you must ‘kow-tow’ to the masters that "feed you every grain of rice". But leave BN and you will unfortunately have to work hard for an honest living.
Given the decision, I think the component parties in BN prefer to live without honour, with their bellies full of tainted rice.
This is opposite of the famous saying that goes "It is better to die on your feet than live on your knees".
Lim rapped for picking on Umno 'small fry'
Astounded: Penang BN has chided Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for “attacking” a minor Umno member over remarks made at the Umno general assembly.
This is better than Teng Chang Yeow who has not even uttered so much as a squeak over incendiary remarks made by certain delegates at the Umno general assembly.
He didn't even stand up for the Penang businessmen who were being vilified and he is the BN Penang chairman. It goes to show how much Gerakan is under the thumb of Umno.
Lonely MidnightSun: Teng, you and your cohorts did not even yelp, but put your tails in between your legs when it comes to your 'big' brother, Umno.
Now you dare to condemn others for attacking a 'minor' Umno member for making incendiary remarks. Anyway, you and your party are already of irrelevant to us.
Longyan Ren: Teng has no “hood” to attack a minor Umno member and yet tried to talk big. Go fly kite.
DAP: MCA, Gerakan obedient on Sedition Act
FellowMalaysian: Calling MCA and Gerakan's response towards PM Najib Razak's backtracking on his promise in the Seditious Act's repeal as being “obedient”, Lim Guan Eng is rather soft and kind in his description.
A more appropriate word should be “no balls”.
Lee Hup: Who asked the Pakatan Rakyat people not to support the National Harmony Act that was supposed to replace the Sedition Act?
Since there is no replacement, the Sedition Act remains.
Not Convinced: Lee Hup, stop your spin. Wasn’t PAS’ Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa a member of the National Unity Consultative Council which was tasked to draw up the National Harmony Act.
It’s Najib who did a somersault on the Act. Don’t blame others.
Amah: None of the MCA, MIC and Gerakan leaders have utter any sound on the Sedition Act.
At least PPP chief M Kayveas spoke up even though it is a “carry balls” statement. At least PPP have the guts to admit that they have to ‘kow tow’ to the boss.
