YOURSAY ‘Who else has the power that can bypass 1MDB board if not Najib?’

Report: 1MDB duo had quit over JV irregularities

Kim Quek: This report by The Star confirms Sarawak Report’s explosive story dated Feb 28, 2015 which triggered off a series of events that have now pushed PM Najib Razak to the edge of a precipice.

This Star report also verifies the facts and justifies allegations carried in my articles dated March 6 and March 20 , highlighting the 1MDB-PetroSaudi joint venture as a grand scam to execute the ‘Heist of the century’, for which Najib’s culpability was all too apparent.

This 1MDB scandal is undoubtedly the blackest blotch in the 58-year history of the nation’s administration, and we must most certainly leave no stone unturned to expose the whole truth and return justice to the people.

SMC77: Promissory notes were issued by Bridge Partners and then 1MDB used them to reinvest into Bridge Partners.

So, if Bridge Partners failed to make a return, then 1MDB will lose money and the promissory notes will worth nothing since the money already lost.

Now we can assume that the 49 percent stake in the oil field company was worth nothing and it is another big scam.

Sirach: Well done to the two former 1MDB directors. It’s gratifying to note that there are some willing to stand up for what is right.

Saphire: Former 1MDB chairperson Mohd Bakke Salleh and board member Azlan Mohd Zainol, Malaysians appreciate your honesty and integrity.

If indeed anyone who qualify to use the number plate PATRIOT 1 and PATRIOT 2 on their cars, it would be none other than you both.

And if there is such number plates: TRAITOR 1 and TRAITOR 2, the rightful owner of the plates are the one who receive the RM2.6 billion into his bank account and the one who defied your order that the money returned to 1MDB.

Swipenter: The two should volunteer themselves to testify before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Anonymous 122461436161429: If it is true that the 1MDB duo quit because of irregularities, they are just as guilty as the real crooks.

They knew in 2009 and saw what was happening but they took the easy way and resigned. They could have lodged police reports and stopped the crime.

Mushiro: Only two 1MDB directors resigned in protest after US$700 million (RM2.6 billion) of 1MDB's funds intended for its joint venture with PetroSaudi was diverted to another company.

I guess the other directors were very happy with their pay and bonuses. The problem is most of these political companies hand picked compliant directors who will bent over backwards to please their political masters.

We have too many of these type of directors sitting on the boards of EPF (Employees Provident Fund), Tabung Haji, KWAP (Kumpulan Wang Persaraan), LTAT (Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera) and almost all public funds where they get big easy money just to break the rules.

I Wonder?: Who else has the power that can bypass the board if this is not the most powerful man in the government? There is no way commoners like you or I can do that.

Abasir: "It is unclear who had the authority to overrule 1MDB's board to direct the diversion and refuse its instruction to return the money," reported The Star .

Unclear to The Star perhaps. For all thinking Malaysians, it is as clear as the skies over Antarctica.

Vking: The alleged transfer of US$700 million into Najib's personal account just before elections is hard to believe as it exposes the PM's name

Such a big transfer into a local bank under the name of the prime minister would have long ago been exposed prior to GE13 or the two years after that.

Any teller or private banking officer would just need to simply type in the PM's name or IC number and this account would have been immediately exposed.

I would believe where needed, an amount of RM2.6 billion could have easily been raised locally via the many Umno-related companies and political funders or tycoons. There was no need to have a risky overseas transfer, and in US dollars via Singapore banks, too.

Bringon14: It seems like the PM has quite a number of minions who are willing to support him and remind us that we are all wrong, that there is not a shred of evidence of wrongdoing and so on and so forth.

There are billions missing with the PM sitting at the very apex of that organisation responsible for it and these blind minions still prefer not to see what is going on.

Anyway, just a wee reminder here - there was no evidence of former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim having had sex with Saiful Bukhari Azlan either.

Justine Gow: US$700 million and someone powerful to override the decision of the board of directors. What is the common factor between these two?
