'Kit Siang worried DAP MP may be linked to Justo?'

Umno MP Abdul Rahman Dahlan in a Twitter exchange with DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang has accused the latter of being concerned that his party leader may be involved in alleged dealings with former PetroSaudi International director Xavier Andre Justo.

This is after Lim yesterday criticised Abdul Rahman for relying on a disgraced former journalist Lester Melanyi who has claimed that whistleblower site Sarawak Report had fabricated its information about 1MDB.

Sarawak Report had alleged misappropriation of funds in 1MDB based on Justo's information, which Malaysian authorities claimed had been tampered with.

"Is Lim worried his star MP could be proven lying about meeting Justo?

"Clearly the eggs are on your face Mr Lim, not mine," Abdul Rahman, who is urban wellbeing, housing and local government minister, posted on his Twitter .

Abdul Rahman did not specify which "star MP" he was referring to, but had on various occasions demanded DAP's Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua to explain if he had met Justo.

On Thursday, Abdul Rahman in another tweet again alluded to Pua, who is frontrunner in DAP's criticisms of 1MDB.

"On July 2, I asked Tony Pua: Has he ever met Justo? He said he had no clue who Justo was. We shall see...," tweeted Abdul Rahman.

Lim won't touch 'shady characters'

Yesterday, Lim said Abdul Rahman had egg on his face for relying on Lester's claim but Abdul Rahman replied the focus should be on the message and not the messenger, a phrase often used by the opposition.

However, Lim today said he would not touch dubious and shady characters "with a barge pole".

Lester, who claims to have contributed to Sarawak Report , had alleged that the whistleblower portal forged information in its 1MDB reports.

Editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown has denied the allegation, adding that Lester had never worked for Sarawak Report and was only hired for a few months at her other media initiative Radio Free Sarawak.

A senior Sarawak BN state minister, James Masing, had also criticised Abdul Rahman, stating Lester had credibility issues.
