Perhaps Najib’s potato too hot for Lim

YOURSAY ‘Lim found out it impossible to package a chicken as a phoenix.’

Lim Kok Wing ends stint as Najib's adviser

Peacemaker: Why did it take so long to announce Lim Kok Wing's departure from the PM's public relations (PR) team?

Were they too embarrassed that yet another PR personality had abandoned the PM's image-rehabilitation efforts?

Odin Tajué: For you, the penny has finally dropped, eh, Uncle Lim? We all knew the potato is too hot to handle long even before you were tempted by lucre to sleep with PM Najib Abdul Razak.

Anonymous_40f4: Twenty years ago Lim’s spin and propaganda for Umno would have worked because we only had The Star , New Straits Times , TV3, Utusan Malaysia , Berita Harian and RTM.

But now with the alternative media, all the Umno spin is dissected and rubbished within hours. So Lim saw it fit to run away before he gets shamed.

Apache: Finally someone realises that only miracles can help the devil to save himself.

Anticonmen: What the rakyat want now is a specially convened parliamentary session to question the leader on the missing billions.

Is there no one among the elected ministers and MPs to do this? You were elected by the people to safeguard our assets.

Anonymous #59082512: The question is, why was Lim appointed in the very first place?

Noel Sabaratnam: We don't know the real story about why Lim quit. I bet there is more than meets the eye. I don't trust anyone nowadays.

Xed: A PR "wizard"? And he had very early on been made a professor emeritus. What learned papers has he written which have actually been cited by credible writers?

Malaysia, the land of many professors and many universities, and few of class.

Apapunboleh: Perhaps Lim found out it was impossible to package a chicken as a phoenix.

Dalvik: Now, even Lim Kok Wing also said "Tak Nak!"

Robbery video goes viral, cops hunt suspects

Justine Gow: Thieves and robbers are emboldened now after the Low Yat Plaza incident.

If they were caught and beaten up because they resisted, they or their friends could always call up an NGO to organise a mob and trash the premises that they had robbed.

The police may even arrest anyone who apprehended and beat up the culprits during the robbery.

Visu: I can't find words to describe the type of violence that is overwhelming our peace-loving society. But the real criminals are the politicians and the law and enforcement agencies.

Vision2020: The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) should focus more on crimes that affect the safety and security of the citizens instead of going after politicians who do not agree with the BN government, like the 1MDB scandal.

Vijay47: Robbery is bad enough but I just cannot understand these savages. In most cases, the victims do not offer any resistance yet the thugs will beat them up for the sheer hell of it.

I hope that when such robbers are arrested, they get a few years in Sungai Buloh Prison and many more strokes of the rotan.

P Dev Anand Pillai: That is the reason why some believe the 'shoot first and ask questions later' policy.

These boys will never learn, it will be best if the people form vigilante groups to trap these creatures and then descend upon them like what most other fed-up Asian societies will do.

Our police are politicians, they are better at politics than policing. Once the money is deposited, the chasing and hunt will stop. This is Malaysia, a land of never-ending possibilities.

Hmmmmmmmm: Just like the theft case at Low Yat Plaza, the important thing to determine is whether those thieves stole for personal gain or not.

Legit: This is where the country is going. The top guns plunder the country and roll over anyone who is in their way for billions of ringgit, while these low-life gangsters plunder and beat up the poor folk for a few hundred ringgit.

The inspector-general of police (IGP) is busy tweeting. Well done, Najib and gang. Malaysia is gaining notoriety in its own right.

Doc: Hmmm! PDRM is trying to catch crooks or in this case, robbers. This seems to be a new task for the PDRM.

PDRM are not particularly known to catch crooks. Anyhow, I would like to wish the PDRM all the best in their new endeavour and hope their "catching crooks" function does bear fruit.

RKR: In Malaysia, the culture is not to go after the robbers, but instead the social media users who are spreading news about it.
