Ex-DPM warns of failed state if 'bull not taken by the horns'

Former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin has warned if the current crisis is not tackled with courage, Malaysia could become a failed state.

In expressing this, Muhyiddin cited the idiom "take the bulls by the horns".

"With the uncertainty surrounding the global economic climate, the free fall of the Ringgit, extraordinary political crisis, increase of prices and living cost, influx of foreigners and dismal investor sentiments are elements which can cause Malaysia to become a failed state," he said in a media statement.

It is because of this, Muhyiddin said he constantly reminds his "friends" in the government to take immediate remedial measures.
