When T-shirts and balloons are lethal weapons

YOURSAY ‘Najib and his cohorts will soon be banning anything that is yellow in colour.’

Yellow balloons dropped on PM's event

Anonymous_1416272691: If the PM can treat you like idiots, the least that he should expect are ‘donations’ in the form of balloons.

I think unless the PM starts to respect the rakyat, there should be no reason the rakyat should accord him any respect in return.

The PM must realise that by enriching himself, the rakyat are being impoverished. After impoverishing us, the least he should do is to treat us with dignity.

Don't take that away from us, at least not from those of us who still have the pride and determination to seek a better Malaysia.

Negarawan: Najib has turned Malaysia into North Korea where he can arbitrarily declare what is law.

Three days ago, T-shirts were banned, today balloons are lethal weapons.

The IGP (inspector-general of police) is oblivious towards the increasing level of crime, but seems to be preoccupied with chasing after yellow T-shirts and balloons.

Justice Pao: Najib and his cohorts will soon be banning anything that is yellow in colour as they are having a phobia against anything in yellow.

The traffic lights will soon have only two colours - red and green. Yellow lines and boxes will be removed from all roads.

Anyone wearing yellow in front of Najib or DPM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi may be stripped off their clothing. For those also with yellow undergarments, they will have to make do with their birthday suit.

Bananas or any yellow-coloured fruits or vegetables will soon be banned from all meals with Najib and Zahid as they will choke on seeing them.

Soon even the word ‘bersih’ may be erased from all our vocabulary, to be replaced with ‘tidak kotor’ or ‘cuci’.

JD Lovrenciear: Even balloons can frighten the PM and his spouse. Interestingly, no one did this to any of our previous prime ministers and their spouses. But he and Rosmah Mansor still fail to get the drift.

Casey: There's an old Chinese saying, "If one commits no wrong, one fears not the sound of knocking at wee hours."

An open letter to our prime minister

Frank: Dear Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB) secretary Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, I shall try to be brief and straight to the point.

I really and truly hope there shall be no fourth letter to you-know-who from you. Because it should be clear by now that what you wrote is nothing new - for the truth of the matter is that so many countless people and parties have asked the same thing from you-know-who.

What I believe needs to be done now and for a long time to come is to tell bystander Malaysians that they (instead of largely you-know-who and his men and women of power from Umno-BN and not to forget the nation’s top civil servants) are to be blamed too for Malaysia moving toward a failed-nation status.

Really and truly, there is a need by you, me, the rest of Parti Amanah Rakyat, NGOs, etc, to educate the rakyat that they get the leaders they deserve.

Recall what the Prophet (saw) and his ‘sahabats’ did during their lifetime. They focused not just on the Jahiliyah leaders but also the average people, who could very well be slaves.

In the name of Allah, the best of Protector and Helper, we (and for that matter anyone else) need to be deserving of anything worthwhile, including good government and governance.

And looking at the attendance at Bersih 4, do you really think a good section of the Malay community deserve good government and good governance?

It is as if they want it all to come to them on a silver platter, leaving the rest of us to struggle for Malaysia that we can stop shedding tears for. What gives?

Rick Teo: This is a well-written open letter by Dzulkefly. Hitler and Saddam Hussein too boasted they had support from the people but when the time came, they were duly booted out.

Fair Play: Dr Dzul, hats off to you. Would they dare come after you? I doubt it.

Would the PM be dislodged? I doubt it too, because too many people with too much vested interests and too much to lose will protect themselves at all costs, at least in the near term.

Xed: Can you imagine what the BN would have done if all these money transactions had been performed in Kelantan, Selangor or Penang by the opponents of BN?

The police would have asked Interpol to enforce international arrest warrants, many would have been thrown into prisons, the attorney-general (AG) would have prosecuted many, the Registrar of Societies (ROS) would issue show-cause notices against DAP, PAS and PKR, and Utusan Malaysia and the government-controlled mass media would be full of comments about crooks in the DAP, PAS and PKR.

The Truth: Thank you, Dr Dzul, for such a to-the-point open letter. But PM Najib Abdul Razak will not respond and will go on the pretend 'I will stay the course'.

Dare Najib to sue you, otherwise his silence means only one thing - admission of his sins of omissions and commissions.

YM Lee: My dear Dr Dzul, your open letter is clear and unambiguous. Indeed, this means the PM can sue you for slander and defamation.

I think he ought to or at the least respond in a clear and unambiguous manner.

Apa Nama: If possible I wish more MPs would write open letter similar to this to request Najib to step down. Also the heads of NGOs.

There should be millions of open letters. Let's shame this man who does not feel embarrassed.

Where is Justice: If a rogue leader in a democratic country cannot be replaced through legal means, then what else to call it other than a failed nation?
