More people have been quizzed by the cops over their participation in the Bersih 4 rally in Kuala Lumpur over the weekend and the nationwide warm-up to the mammoth event.
In Selangor, DAP state assemblyperson Tiew Way Keng was questioned this morning at the Pandan Indah police station today over her role at the Taman Muda night market in connection with rally.
A police report was lodged against her on Aug 21 and the lawmaker received a police summons notice yesterday.
Tiew was quizzed for half-an-hour and asked on the Bersih rally organisers as well as who was selling the official, yelllow Bersih T-shirts.
In a statement, Tiew said she believed the police were generally following a directive given by Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also home minister, had warned that post-Bersih 4 actions would be taken against the protesters.
In Perak, DAP Taiping parliamentarian Nga Kor Ming ( photo ) and Aulong state assembleperson Leow Thye Yih will need to turn up at the Taiping police station, reported Sin Chew Daily .
In Johor Baru, Lim Chee Tan, 39, was probed under Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 for addressing a crowd at a Bersih 4 rally held at the Dataran Bandaraya there on Aug 29,.
It was reported the police showed up at the Lim's house to pick him up for a statement. He was later released.
Sin Chew Daily quoted Lim saying he arrived at the rally scene but was forced to take to stage to calm down the crowd though he was not scheduled to be a speaker.
