Former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin, who arrived home this morning after a two-week trip to Australia, was greeted by some 100 supporters clad in T-shirts bearing the words "I am not a yes man".

The phrase was a quote from Muhyiddin and was printed on the back of the supporters' black T-shirts, which bore his picture on the front.

The supporters converged at KLIA as early as 7.30am to show support to the Umno deputy president who was on July 28 removed as deputy prime minister for his criticism of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on the 1MDB matter.

The supporters were from various Umno divisions in Johor, including Ayer Hitam, Gelang Patah, Pulai, Pengerang and Pagoh.

Also present was Muhyiddin's brother, Abdul Aziz Yassin.

Muhyiddin, who had been on holiday with his wife Noorainee Abdul Rahman, was greeted by loud applause when they appeared at the KLIA arrival lobby.

Muhyiddin, who appeared tired, spent some 20 minutes with his supporters.

The supporters hugged and shook hands with Muhyiddin, who is also Pagoh MP, while one handed him a "I am not a yes man" T-shirt.

Muhyiddin then held up the T-shirt so the words can be seen clearly as photographers snapped away.

Later, Muhyiddin joined his supporters in prayers.

Approached by the media after that, Muhyiddin merely raised his hand and said "never mind" and smiled.

Despite being removed as deputy prime minister, Muhyiddin has repeatedly stated that he was not a “yes man” and that it was his duty to voice out Najib's handling of the 1MDB affair.

Following his removal, Muhyiddin also revealed that he had confronted the prime minister about the RM2.6 billion in deposits in his personal bank accounts.

The Umno supreme council meets next Wednesday and it remains to be seen if Muhyiddin's continued vocalsing on the 1MDB issues will also see him being sacked from Umno.
