Closed circuit television recording shows deputy public prosecutor Kevin Morais intercepted and abducted in the plush suburb of Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, police say.

Inspector general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said he is believed to have been taken by several individuals at Jalan Telawi, Berita Harian reported.

The CCTV recording showed that Morais’ car was blocked by another car, before the prominent DPP was pulled out and abducted, Bernama reported Khalid as saying.

There has been no demands for ransom, he said.

Police have yet to ascertain if the burnt car found in a palm oil plantation in Kampung Sungai Samak in Hilir Perak belonged to Morais.

Morais was last seen leaving his apartment at Menara Duta in his gray Proton Perdana, with the registration plate WA6264Q on Sept 4, to go to work in Putrajaya.
