Najib, tell us who's insulting the Malays?

YOURSAY ‘The PM is using the Chinese as a convenient bogeyman to divert attention from his woes.’

PM: We're no racists, no 'bloody keris' at rally

Turvy: PM Najib Razak’s game is obvious to everyone except to him and a sad bunch of our fellow citizens who offer themselves to be bought for nasi bungkus and a few ringgit of pocket money.

But we will not be distracted. Just tell us in clear terms everything connected to the RM2.6 billion deposited into your bank accounts, how it was used and where the balance is.

The rest of your ravings, you can safe for a time when you have nothing else to do. Which is not very far from now.

Kangkung: Yes, Najib is continuing to make sure the racist fire he has lit smoulders so that attention is diverted from him.

This man is a very smart. As a PM of a multiracial country, I am not sure how he can even suggest the idea of a “bloody keris”.

A responsible PM would diffuse any racial tension instead of trying hard to spark a racial fight by repeating rhetorics such as "do not insult the Malays", "do not shred the pride of the Malays", etc.

Najib, tell us who's “insulting the Malays”? Tell us who's “shredding the pride of the Malays”?

Basically: Let's congratulate the PM for his honesty. At least now he has admitted 1Malaysia is a fraud.

Deep down we always knew Najib was 'Malay first' like his former deputy, Muhyiddin Yassin. Only MCA and MIC were silly enough to parrot his “salam 1Malaysia” around, like idiots.

It's noteworthy too that Najib has learned well from his mentor Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who used to say Malaysia Boleh to the Chinese and turn around and say 'Defend Malay pride' to Malays.

Eyespye: If Najib hopes that his statements will provoke a response, it's working. I'm sure it's targeted at the rural folk who subsist on a daily diet of ‘news’ from Utusan Malaysia , New Straits Times and the rest.

Except for Mahathir, there has not been a more divisive leader. And you know what? Najib is taking on the mantle of Mahathir - and thus becoming a true and "worthy" successor; just as ruthless and "forgetful".

It looks like Najib has "risen" to the occasion.

Anonymous_1371463676: The last card to play is the racial card. Expect this card to be played time and again as long as Umno is in power.

Has Umno made every Malay in the country rich? Has Umno made every Malay educated? Has Umno uplifted the living standards of every Malay? If the answer is "Yes", please go ahead and vote for Umno.

If the answer is "No", please vote for a better future. Don't sell your poor souls and let Umno leaders rob your children’s and grandchildren’s future.

Ipohcrite: The nation is in political and economic turmoil while Najib creates imaginary fears and spews divisive rhetoric.

To borrow from a famous quote, never in the history of Malaysia have so much been suffered by so many at the hands of so few.

Frankiepo: No doubt, you have met many successful people who are grateful to Umno. They are numbered in the hundreds or maybe thousands, but there's still the balance of the 30 million Malaysians who are struggling daily.

TakDahDuit: We only want to insult one Malay - the prime minister, who has lost all credibility because of being tainted by countless scandals and using unscrupulous ways to cover them up.

Anyone with that sort of record deserves to be insulted, whether Malay or not.

A Malay criminal is a criminal, a Chinese criminal is a criminal, an Indian criminal is a criminal. Are you saying whether a person is a criminal or not depends on his race?

Beep!: In Bersih 4, two youths behaved badly. In the red shirt rally, hundreds did, leading to two police officers being injured and forcing the police to use water cannon.

There was no lack of evidence of bad behaviour. Is Pesaka chief Ali Rustam paying for all the buses, T-shirts, clean-up bill, ‘kopi-o’ money, etc, out of his own pocket or will he draw from the RM2.6 billion bank account?

Jesse: Najib is a PM of slogans rather than substance. He has failed to properly account for the many activities that one can probably classify as detrimental to parliamentary democracy.

You are not fighting for Umno but for yourself. If you have any self-respect, you would hand over power to an honourable person who can advance the cause of the party and the nation.

You might have some support, but the vast majority has lost confidence in your ability to lead. So stop this shameless twisting. We have had enough of your preaching.

Unspin: Considering that Najib is using the Chinese as a convenient bogeyman to divert attention from his personal scandals, we need to change the strategy to re-focus on the elephant in the room.

Instead of the Chinese speaking out against the injustice or mismanagement of our country, they should collectively keep silent for a period of time, say, for six months.

During these six months, we only ask simple questions such as (a) who 'donated' RM2.6 billion? (b) what did you use the money for? (c) where is the balance of the money? (d) what was the motive for killing Altantuya Shaariibuu?
