A former senior police officer has taken attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali to task for claiming the prime minister is not consulted in prosecutorial matters.

Former Kuala Lumpur CID chief Mat Zain Ibrahim alleged that in some cases, the AG does consult the sitting PM before making a decision.

The senior cop claimed to have evidence of this.
