Zahid, we can win Nobel Prize for Fundraising

YOURSAY | PM Najib Razak should be able to get a prize for that one.’

Zahid throws a challenge - win us a Nobel Prize in Literature

Slumdog: Let’s be real, DPM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Aiming to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 41 years’ time is a bit farfetched.

But what is very achievable, as Malaysia is in the third spot at the moment, is the prize for the most corrupt nation on earth.

Also coming close behind is the prize for the nation with the most outflow of illicit funds as we are in fifth position at the moment.

These are achievements that Umno can aspire to and think of what it will do for Umno Malay dignity. It will be awesome.

Grey Matter: Perhaps we can get the Nobel Prize for Economics with the 1MDB financial rationalisation plan.

Probably our beloved prime minister could win the prize this year. Zahid, please submit Najib’s name to the Nobel Committee in Sweden and prove the detractors wrong.

Hang Babeuf: Dream on! Any writer with the required vision, humanity and moral imagination to win a Nobel Prize for Literature will be officially deemed a public enemy in this country - and will languish in jail, if they do not emigrate.

So the DPM wants a Nobel Literature laureate for Malaysia? What he can do is to change the official political culture with its restrictive, authoritarian attitudes.

If he does that, a prestige-boosting win, though still very unlikely, at least becomes theoretically possible. Until then, "nothing doing" on that front.

And why just the Nobel Prize for Literature? Zahid should also demand that the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences immediately award the next Nobel Prize for Physics to Dr Haron Din of PAS (and UKM) for his path-breaking work on astral travel, on "mahluk halus" as the cause of sundry Penang Bridge disasters, and for providing ancillary but essential supernatural safety protection (while raising and lowering the "rods" to control nuclear reaction processes) to Puspanita, the experimental nuclear research reactor at UKM.

GE14Now!: I wonder if there is a Nobel Prize for Fundraising. The PM should be able to get a prize for that one.

Oh Ya: Yes, if it is based on the mystery surrounding the RM2.6 billion ‘donation’, we could win the Nobel Prize hands down.

And we can get it now, no need to wait until 2057.

Sarawak's SMK Sundar - a parent's heartbreak

Guna Otak: There is no money for these schools from the federal government. But there is plenty of money for 1MDB.

Just imagine how many schools can be built and maintained if the Bandar Malaysia asset is used for these schools instead of servicing 1MDB debts. And the PM has the cheek to ask us to move on?

Look at the parties that Jho Low is holding. I am wondering if the money for these parties came from 1MDB.

Right now, with the coming Sarawak election, there is much focus on CM Adenan Satem just because he is making some right noises. But remember, he is part of the BN clique that is impoverishing the country.

The people in Sarawak are partly to be blamed as they keep on voting these clowns into power. How to expect change when analysts are predicting that the current state government will be voted back into power?

So for now, expect status quo for the schools.

Prudent: Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian, please get the above (among others) message out to the rural people in Sarawak fast.

And please work out an accommodation with DAP and Parti Amanah Negara. Battles are won or lost in the seat negotiations.

It is better to contest fewer seats and win some than to contest and lose all. Amanah and DAP should also have this attitude of give and take.

Fairplayer: Everything described here points to the failure of the federal government where education is concerned.

All the more, Sarawak must have total control over education in the state as spelt out in the 18-point Malaysia Agreement of 1963.

Competence must be a compulsory requirement when recruiting teachers for training, besides their academic excellence.

In the last 40 to 50 years, the selection process for entry into teachers' colleges has been primarily based on racial quotas, instead of competence. Go figure.

Anonymous 1281621434255574: Think twice before you vote. Vote for BN if this is what you want for your kids.
