EC chief bows out, says time to play with grandkids

After serving the Election Commission (EC) for seven years, outgoing EC chairperson Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof today clocked out his last day at the EC office in Putrajaya today.

Abdul Aziz, who will turn 66 this Sunday, said that he is required under the law to stand down as EC chairperson.

Article 114(3) of the Federal Constitution stipulates that the EC chairperson must stand down when he or she reaches 66 years old.
