Well-known composer and lyricist Adnan Abu Hassan died today at Selayang Hospital. He was 57.

Malaysian Artistes Association (Seniman) secretary-general Hafiz Nafiah said Adnan died about 2.15am from complications of several ailments.

“The association expresses its condolences to the family... may his soul be placed among the pious,” he told Bernama .

The funeral prayers will be held at Al-Falah Mosque in Sungai Ramal Dalam, Kajang before burial at the village Muslim cemetery.

Adnan had written hit songs for artistes including Siti Nurhaliza (Jerat Percintaan).

He received the ‘Anugerah Wirama’ at the 17th Music Industry Awards ceremony in 2010.
