The donation of RM21,050 received from a BN-friendly NGO today will not silence private investigator P Balasubramaniam’s widow A Santamil Selvi.

Saying this after receiving the donation from Persatuan Minda dan Sosial Prihatin (PMSP), Selvi reiterated that she only turned to the NGO for help for her children’s education.

The NGO that handed over the money at her house in Rawang, said the funds were raised through public donation.

“No, no, no. It’s only to help with my children’s education expenses. You think RM20,000 is enough to silence me? Is it enough? Let me ask you that.

“It’s not. It’s only for the children’s education,” Selvi said, bursting into tears.

She created a stir when she apologised to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s wife Rosmah Mansor, for earlier accusing the latter of causing Bala’s fatal heart attack.

Bala, Selvi and their three children fled the country after the private investigator signed two statutory declarations on Najib’s involvement in the Altantuya Shaaribuu murder in 2006.

Monthly stipend from PKR in jeopardy

The first statutory declaration implicated the prime minister, while the second recanted the first statutory declaration.

The family in 2013 returned to Malaysia, with Bala affirming the first statutory declaration, but soon after that, he died from heart complications.

However, the police have cleared the prime minister of any involvement in the Altantuya case.

Selvi, at her March 12 press conference, said “certain quarters” promised all sorts of aid to the family after Bala’s death but nothing materialised.

However, PKR’s Subang MP R Sivarasa said PKR did not make promises and only said it would need to further discuss the children’s fees for tertiary education, as the amount is sizeable.

Sivarasa also said the children’s school fees have been undertaken by several donors. The children are now aged 19, 18 and 14.

'Tattoo of Bala because I don’t want any other man'

Today, Selvi said PKR provided the family with a monthly stipend since Bala’s death.

“They only gave us money to eat but what about the children’s education? I asked them but there was no reply.

“I sent a text message to YB Siva saying I went to the NGO because I need RM9,500 for the children’s education,” she said.

She is unsure if PKR would continue aiding the family after the press conference with PSMP.

Selvi was also choked with tears when describing how she has been labelled as a “bad woman with a tattoo” for seeking help for her children’s future.

Lifting her sleeves, she showed reporters the tattoo on her upper arms, which is of Bala’s face and his name as well.

“My heart exploded when I read on Facebook that someone said I am a tattooed woman, and that tattooed women are bad.

“The tattoo is of my late husband’s face – no one else’s… I have it because I don’t want to be with any other man.

“I am the one going through this pain. You will never know the pain I have to endure to raise these children. So, please don’t just simply comment,” she added.
