Here are the key headlines you may have missed yesterday.

The master and his wolf

1MDB continued to gain international infamy with plans by an Oscar nominee to do a documentary about the company's money being allegedly used to finance Hollywood film ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. Tentatively titled as ‘ The master and his wolf ’, British producer Mike Lerner said filming in Malaysia had been completed.

1MDB is not the only thing going international as caricatures of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in clown face paint emerged at Australia's Gold Coast theme parks.

Back home, police commenced probe on 1MDB in the wake of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) report, while Najib and 1MDB CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy were urged to lodge reports after the latter claimed 1MDB was defrauded.

Malaysiakini also looked at individuals behind the company which could have duped 1MDB.

Who's going to be new PM?

Former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin said he had no qualms if current Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi replaces Najib as prime minister.

Zahid was not flattered, telling Muhyiddin that it is not for him to decide .

Najib also struck back, claiming an agenda to install former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad's son Mukhriz as prime minister.

Battle for Sarawak is on

The Election Commission announced nomination day for the Sarawak election will be on April 25 while polling day is set for May 7.

SUPP was plagued by bad news , losing its traditional seat to splinter rival UPP. SUPP president Sim Kui Hian claimed Sarawak BN chief Adenan Satem had shortchanged them and insisted UPP candidates must join SUPP if they win.

Meanwhile, the Sarawak immigration refused to release the list of people banned from entering Sarawak after complaints by several opposition leaders that they were barred from entering the state to help with the election campaign.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng wrote to Adenan, appealing that the ban be lifted as opposition members were in Sarawak for legitimate political activities.

Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos, known for leading the red shirt movement, was also barred from Sarawak.

Activist Haris Ibrahim was jailed for eight months for sedition but is appealing the decision.

Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ismail expresses confidence in Johor Menteri Besar Khaled Nordin amid claims of a plot to oust him.

Terengganu offered controversial preacher Zakir Naik an island to set up a knowledge centre.

The US State Department Human Rights Practices for 2015 found that pro-Malay policies have created widening economic disparity within the bumiputera community.

Subang MP R Sivarasa is expected to be charged at Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court for sharing a fake Time magazine cover of Najib on Facebook.
