Kini Roundup: DAP-PKR clash, ‘massive’ fraud in 1MDB, T’ganu sultan-MB spat
Here are the key headlines you may have missed yesterday.
Harapan's friendly fire in Sarawak
Deep cracks between DAP and PKR emerged in Sarawak as the two opposition allies will fight each other as well as BN in six constituencies at the May 7 state election.
To make matters worse, PKR candidates were disqualified in two seats as one of them was a bankrupt while another did not turn up for nomination.
DAP claimed the party was shortchanged , while PKR said it gave DAP the opportunity to renegotiate .
The clash is despite Pakatan Harapan previously declaring a consensus mechanism to avoid such disputes.
Analysts say the clash could mean trouble for Pakatan Harapan, while BN said this was evidence the opposition is incapable of forming a government.
'Massive fraud' in 1MDB
1MDB chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy conceded that there may be "massive fraud" in the state-owned company and that Malaysians could be involved.
This was amid the possibility of 1MDB defaulting on its interest payment after its guarantor, International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), refused to pay for it amid the billions 1MDB owed IPIC that had gone missing.
However, Abu Dhabi-based IPIC said it was now willing to make the payment to avert the risk of cross-default.

It is unclear what led to the move but Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is seeking an audience with the Terengganu sultan to resolve the dispute.
