Ismail Sabri: I can compile a book to show Kit Siang anti-Malay
K KANGSAR POLLS Umno supreme council member Ismail Sabri Yaakob today accepted DAP veteran leader Lim Kit Siang's challenge to prove Lim is anti-Malay and anti-Islam.
In fact, the Rural and Regional Development Minister said he can compile a whole book on this.
"I can prove it. I can compile a whole book consisting of all the speeches he made," Ismail Sabri told reporters in Kuala Kangsar.
The Bera MP added that not a single person can say that Lim is not racist, at least in parts.
"Even his now good friend (Dr) Mahathir (Mohamad) stressed that he (Lim) is the most racist person and that DAP's struggle is racist. Everyone says the same thing (about Lim)," he said.
Asked if Mahathir had betrayed the Malays, Ismail yesterday said the former premier's decision to collobarate with DAP speaks for itself.
This prompted Lim to challenge Ismail Sabri to prove when he has ever been anti-Malay or anti-Islam in his 50 years in politics.
Lim, who is Gelang Patah MP, said Umno leaders should stop the accusation if Ismail Sabri fails the challenge.
Ismail Sabri spoke to the press after distributing Perak Risda dividends and contributions for the Kuala Kangsar Kemas pre-school scheme to selected recipients.
Also present were the sons of BN candidate Mastura Mohd Yazid.
Mastura defends her late husband Wan Mohammad Khair-il Annuar Wan Ahmad's seat against PAS' Dr Najihatussalehah Ahmad, Amanah's Ahmad Termizi Ramli and independent candidate Izat Bukhari Izat Ismail.
Wan Mohammad Khair-il Annuar died in a helicopter crash on May 5, in Sebuyau, Sarawak during the state election campaign.
Kuala Kangsar goes to the polls on June 18.
