Umno in panic mode over historic meeting, says Azmin
Umno is now feeling jittery in the wake of the historic meeting between Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim, said Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali.
He said that the meeting has united the opposition parties and Malaysians and, at the same time, caused panic in the Umno camp.

“I think this is a good meeting to unite Malaysians and strengthen the opposition parties.
"That's why Umno is now panicking,” Azmin told reporters after attending the 'Copenhagen Solutions for Sustainable Cities' forum in Shah Alam today.
He was commenting on Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed's statement yesterday that the meeting between the former prime minister and PKR de facto leader may cause unhappy PKR members to quit the party.
"Why is Nur Jazlan so nosy about this (meeting)? This is a good start because we have one common goal – to save Malaysia and work on economic recovery,” said Azmin.
Asked whether the meeting was arranged by him, Azmin said that it was a collective effort.
He added that he would continue to engage with all parties in view of the significant progress being made.
"It's an ongoing process. We hope to be able to see results," he said.
He declined to comment on whether Mahathir was extending an olive branch to Anwar or whether Anwar should forgive Mahathir.
He merely said that the meeting was for all parties to move forward.
"I think Mahathir had said clearly that he came to support the initiative taken by Anwar to file an application to challenge the National Security Council Act (NSC Act).
"Mahathir is interested in this case because he has written in his blog that (he opposed the NSC Act). He was happy that Anwar, too, is making similar efforts and he is prepared to support him.
"Anwar said many times before that he wants to move forward in the interest of Malaysians and the country," said Azmin.
He also said that Mahathir and Anwar had discussed many issues during the meeting, but he declined to elaborate.
Mahathir's appearance at the High Court in Kuala Lumpur on Monday in support of Anwar's bid to challenge the NSC Act was their first meeting in 18 years.
