PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim's daughter Nurul Nuha wants an end to discussions on whether former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad should apologise to her father.

This comes despite Nurul Nuha, herself, reportedly urging an apology, after Mahathir and Anwar shook hands in court earlier this month.

"I feel this issue should not be brought up anymore. I have said in my earlier statement that we will support any decision made by papa and that is what is important.

"I feel we need to look forward to our reform agenda and what has been agreed upon between papa and Tun Mahathir. They must look ahead and focus on what is good for the country," she said.

Nurul Nuha said this when met after a documentary screening and a forum featuring Anwar's children at Fluent Space in Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya, last night.

She said this when asked to comment on the joint statement by Anwar and Mahathir on Monday, against the National Security Council Act.

She earlier urged Mahathir to issue a public apology for his role in sending Anwar to jail for sodomy and corruption, following Anwar's sacking as deputy prime minister in 1998.

Asked on this Monday, Anwar was reluctant to give a direct answer on whether he had forgiven Mahathir.

Instead, he expressed gratitude to his former mentor for supporting the move against the NSC Act and reforms.

Anwar is now serving a five-year sentence for sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

He maintains his innocence, and will submit his final appeal for a judicial review on the conviction on Oct 12.

His lawyers have said that they will seek for his sentence to be reduced to house arrest if the judicial review application fails.
