Red shirts flood Gurney Drive in anti-Bersih, anti-Guan Eng protest

A sea of red T-shirts made up mostly of Malay youths, has flooded the iconic touristic Gurney Drive, many on motorcycles, creating a lot of noise and causing a traffic jam around the Gurney circle.

Some of the group, riding on their motorcycles circled the roubdabout and honked loudly at passersby.

Penang Umno youth chief Rafizal Abd Rahim, claimed that they number some 5,000 youths from all of Penang state who has "risen up to oppose" Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng over his graft charges.

Rafizal said the rally themed "Ride Against Corruption" and "Youths Arise" has two demands.

"We want Guan Eng to resign over his corruption charges. The opposition has condemned our PM Najib Razak eventhough he was not charged.

"Secondly, we want the police to reject Bersih 5 rally. Their only aim is to topple the PM. We dont want to battle with them.

"If Bersih 5 continues, we will confront them," shouted Rafizal.
