Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng today said all undeveloped land on Pulau Jerejak will be gazetted as a state park.

Lim said that this would exclude land currently occupied by a resort and a shipyard.

"Unlike the BN government, the Pakatan Harapan government did not approve any additional development in Pulau Jerejak," said Lim said in a statement today.

This was in response to Penang BN chief Teng Chang Yeow claim that "every inch" of Pulau Jerejak has been lost to private companies.

Teng had also previously condemned Lim for failing to gazette the island as a state park when they took power in 2008.

Teng and Lim's latest tiff involve the Penang Development Corporation's (PDC) decision to sell its 49 percent stake in Tropical Island Resort Sdn Bhd, which operates a holiday resort on Pulau Jerejak.

The BN leader alleged that PDC received a better offer for their stake in 2013. Teng did not offer any evidence to back his claim.

Previously, Lim retorted that there was no such offer made to PDC.
