UMNO AGM There is no place in Umno for closet supporters of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), according to Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin.

He pointed out that both Umno and Bersatu would be canvassing the same pool of supporters, and therefore divided allegiance is a cause for concern.

"That is why we have to send a clear message - in politics, once you are out of Umno, we have to draw the line and we have to fight.

"And there is no place in Umno for people who secretly symphatise with them,” the youth and sports minister told a press conference at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).

During his speech at the Umno Youth annual general assembly earlier, the Rembau MP cautioned against underestimating Bersatu.

"Parti Pribumi will not be standing in areas like Lembah Pantai, Kuantan or Seremban. They will attack Umno's fixed deposits – Muar, Langkawi, maybe Rembau," he said.

Khairy also revealed that stories are circulating as to how the Bersatu leadership have ordered their supporters within Umno to keep their allegiance under wraps, and to shock Umno with an ambush when the general election takes place.

By then, he said, it would be too late for Umno to react as its machinery would be weakened by internal sabotage.

Khairy also noted the dangerous sentiment among some within Umno who still appreciate the contribution of Bersatu leaders.

"This is the culture of the Malays. Still respectful and grateful. But remember, those who were once our leaders and friends are now attacking us in plain sight.

"In the political world, we are at war with Dr Mahathir (Mohamad), Muhyiddin (Yassin) and Mukhriz (Mahathir)," he said.

He also implored Umno Youth members not to posses an "iota of sympathy" for those who have turned against them.

"We are at war. We fight those who are against us. For those who no longer want to be with Umno, please leave now. Leave the ranks.

"Do not be an enemy within. Do not be a coward. Do not hide. Fight us from the front," he said.
