A PAS lawmaker has advised Dr Mahathir Mohamad against elevating his son Mukriz in the political arena, as the former premier might end up firing him as well.

Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz unleashed this sarcastic salvo in response to Mahathir's remarks regarding his late father and PAS spiritual adviser Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

The Pasir Mas MP said while Mahathir managed to vanquish all his political foes, he was unable to defeat the political struggle of Nik Aziz.

"Mahathir's vengeance has not ended. Perhaps Allah wills it as such similar to how his vengeance and hatred towards PAS continues," he told Harakahdaily.

Nik Abduh claimed Mahathir is delighted that PAS is divided but at the same time embarrassed that the former PAS leaders who are now supporting him are weak, while PAS continued to thrive.

Urging the 92-year-old politician to repent and return to the prayer mat, he said: "There is no need to do the same kind of things over and over again from young to old."

"Elevated Musa Hitam, fired Musa Hitam. Elevated Ghafar Baba, fired Ghafar Baba. Elevated Anwar (Ibrahim), fired Anwar. Elevated Pak Lah (Abdulllah Ahmad Badawi), fired Pak Lah.

"Elevated (Prime Minister) Najib (Abdul Razak), and now wants to fire Najib as well.

"I am advising him not to elevate Mukhriz. Later, he will fire Mukhriz as well. I am also advising the people of Malaysia as well," he added.

Give it a rest Dr M

Nik Abduh said while Mahathir should be respected, it was best for him to rest for the sake of the country's well-being.

The former premier had recently remarked how Nik Aziz once claimed that even God uttered expletives, despite the latter having explained the issue.

Najib's supporters have accused Mahathir of attempting to engineer the political ascension of Mukhriz to be prime minister.

The former premier is now the chairperson of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) while his son is the deputy president.
