Najib will win big in GE14 due to Indian support, claims Nalla

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak will secure a big win in the 14th general election as he has the Indian community's support, claimed Senator S Nallakaruppan.

According to Tamil Malar, the Malaysian Indian United Party (MIUP) president said that the community would also say that Najib is the greatest prime minister to date.

"(Former prime minister Dr) Mahathir (Mohamad) is going street by street, badmouthing Najib, to the extent that one feels disgusted to call him (Mahathir) a 'Tun'.

"What did Mahathir do for the Indians when he administered the country? Try and think. Mahathir is not qualified to criticise Najib," Nallakaruppan (photo) is quoted as saying in today's issue of the Tamil daily.

"How can a man who did nothing (for the Indian community) when he was in power, do good for the community now?

“Compare that to Najib, who gives Indians whatever they ask for," he told a Deepavali dinner event in Hutan Melintang, Perak, over the weekend.

Nallakaruppan admitted that BN did indeed lose Indian votes in the last general election, but claimed the community has since learned its lesson.

"This election, Indians have vowed to vote for BN. If you ask them who is the greatest of all the prime ministers so far, they will tell you that they support Najib," he claimed.

Nallakaruppan is a former friend and tennis partner of jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, and the duo had a fallout after Anwar told Nallakaruppan not to compete for the PKR vice-president's post.
