Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak tonight launched BN’s official portal for the 14th general election called TheRakyat at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

The portal, accessible at therakyat.com, comprises segments such as interview, documentaries, analyses, the ‘e-rakyat’ e-bulletin, infographics, galleries, soundtrack and manifesto using the latest features to ensure that messages are delivered in a more dynamic and engaging manner.

In addition, the portal, which uses "People First" as its slogan, will display the profiles and information on BN candidates who will contest in GE14.

It will also become the platform for the people to find out about BN plans and promises for the country over the next five years.

Meanwhile, the interview segment includes the “Bicara 4 Mata” talk show, which addresses a wide range of issues pertaining to the people as well as current issues such as economy, social, politics and humanity.

TheRakyat.com is a continuation to e-Rakyat, which was launched by Najib on March 29 last year.

The portal is also accessible on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, MCA president Liow Tiong Lai, MIC president Dr S Subramaniam, Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong and other BN component party leaders.

Najib also said that BN’s 14th general election manifesto will be the best ever in giving priority to the people.

Najib, who is also the BN chairperson, said he and his deputy Zahid, as well as the leaders of the component parties in the coalition, were determined to do the best for the people and the country.

"There are many reasons why I do not want to reveal our manifesto yet, but insya Allah (God willing) when the time comes, our manifesto will be the best ever for the people.

"It will determine our priorities in championing the people for the next five years,” he said.
