A day after Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad was named as Pakatan Harapan's prime ministerial candidate, he was confronted with new troubles within the coalition, due to unhappiness over his nomination and seat negotiations.

Selangor PKR information chief Hizwan Ahmad publicly expressed disagreement with Mahathir's nomination.

However, Selangor PKR Youth secretary Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman urged party members to toe the line as the final decision had been made by Harapan.

Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar said he had no ambition to become menteri besar even if BN captures the state.

DAP may recruit Amanah for Ayer Hitam battle

PAS mocked Amanah for being allocated the least number of parliamentary seats to contest in the peninsula by Pakatan Harapan.

Federal Territory Amanah said it was a sad day for the party as it received no seat to contest in Kuala Lumpur.

However, it was revealed that in Johor, DAP, which was allocated the Ayer Hitam seat, may offer it to Amanah to contest, but under its "rocket" logo.

Even with Malay party Bersatu set to lead the charge for Harapan in Peninsular Malaysia, Amanah vice-president Mujahid Yusof Rawa said the coalition's struggle must not be based on racism.

GE14 likely in April

Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz said the 14th general election will likely take place in April.
