Pastor Koh inquiry suspended

The Malaysian Human Rights Commision (Suhakam) suspended its inquiry into pastor Raymond Koh's abduction.

This was after a man who had allegedly extorted money from Koh's family was also charged with his kidnapping. Suhakam said it is not allowed to hold inquiries into court matters.

Koh's family were shocked by the inquiry suspension and noted that police had previously testified that the man who was charged had nothing to do with the kidnapping.

Female journalists sexually harassed

PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin urged police to probe politicians who sexually harass journalists, following a report that someone from the ruling party made lewd comments and stroked the thigh of a female journalist.

National Union of Journalists president Mohd Taufek Razak said politicians should not take advantage of journalists, but also suggested female journalists should not wear clothes that are “revealing or sexy.”

A Terengganu exco member boasted that that state had received international attention for wanting to “rehabilitate” transgenders.

The Islamic Development Department (Jakim) met with cosmetics entrepreneur Nur Sajat Kamaruzzaman to "resolve" the status of her gender.

PAS told to choose Dr M or Najib

Pakatan Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad urged PAS to state whether it supported him or Najib Abdul Razak to be prime minister after the 14th general election.
